Lauren Graham was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Donna Grant and Lawrence Graham who was a lobbyist for the candy industry. Her father was from New York and her mother came from The American South, and Lauren has Irish, English, and Scottish heritage. Her birthplace was in Northern Virginia, USA. (Fairfax, Arlington, Great Falls, VA). The school she graduated from was Langley High School, McLean, VA. She graduated from Barnard College, with a bachelor's degree in English. She received her bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University in acting with a master's degree. She was the sole caregiver for her father. When she was five and her parents separated. In her early years, she wanted to play the jockey. However, her height prevented this. As a child traveling extensively, she was with her dad and began acting at the elementary school.
